Burning Man 2005: The Participant-Citizens
Let's step from the night into day, and check out some of the participant-citizens of Black Rock City.
One day, in Kids Camp, a mob of Santa Clauses appeared. All genders, ages, and temperaments were represented. (This was a happy crowd, not the Angry Santas who rampage through major cities, vexing passers-by and generally having a miserable time.)
![]() Even some of the Santas wanted to take photos of the other Santas.
![]() This bicyclist was very pretty in pink, and the doll decorating the bicycle just makes the ensemble.
![]() We saw these bicycle riders as we passed by on the Artery art tour. The guy reading caught my eye; for a moment I thought he was reading a tourist guide book, he's got that posture. (While it might be complimentary to think that the woman was smiling at me, in truth she was being regaled by the dozens of kids on the art car.)
![]() Here's a couple out for a stroll as our art car came on by. This is why I noticed them:
There is a peculiar notion that elegant plumage
![]() Another couple out for a stroll, with a pretty heavy-duty shade structure in the middle of the panorama.
![]() As we cruised the city streets in eDave's art car we came by this guy taking a shower in a shower placed streetside. So of course I had to hoist the camera and yell out "SMILE!", which, of course, he did.
![]() Our next stop: Center Camp.
