2004-02 Gran Canaria: Centro Comercial Yumbo - Bärenhöhle / Cueva de los Osos / Bear Cave
Paul first appeared on these web pages in 1995, when he was the chef at Gisela and Rainer's Deutsche Gasthaus Atlantis. He's moved on, about a block away.
![]() The Bärenhöhle / Cueva de los Osos / Bear Cave (which sticks in my mind as the Bear's Lair) is located on the bottom floor of the C. C. Yumbo on the east side. One of a series of gay bars in the area, Paul's is targeted toward the "bear" audience. (I leave it as an exercise to the reader to research exactly who qualifies as a "bear". Or visit the Castro.)
![]() For those who don't get the cultural vibe, or perhaps as a reaction to the nearby Ladies Only bar, Paul displays this sign on the front door.
