Burning Man 1996: Black Rock Rangers
There's so much to be written about the Black Rock Rangers, and its founder, Michael Michael (also known as Danger Ranger (photograph below)), but there was so much to take in that I just wasn't able to. Sorry.
Here's the Ranger Station, just off the Center Camp area. (If the Man is at 12 o'clock, the Ranger station is usually along the 6 o'clock meridian.)
Here's the meeting area for the Rangers. A meeting is in full swing, and we're being told about what happened during the last shift, and what's expected of us during this shift. There's not many of us, and so much of the city to cover.
Here's Vanessa, our headmistress. You can tell she's an official, she's got a clipboard.
This is the gang of four, Boggmann (in red), Danger Ranger (in the beige hat), unknown (with mustache), and Vanessa.
You may have noticed the doggie head in the first picture. For some reason we had a doggie head (much like the Doggie Diner in San Francisco) but nobody seemed sure why. It was easy for the participants to spot us.
Let's leave the Ranger Station and head out into Black Rock City.
