Burning Man 2000 Nighttime Esplanade
The least welcoming environment for taking pictures with a simple digital camera is the nighttime. Neverless, I'm going to try to give you a feeling for what we see as we stroll around the Esplanade after dark. We're not off to a really good beginning here, sadly.
![]() For all that i can remember, this might even be our camp. Every year, on the day after Christmas, I head down to our local stores to snatch up the bargains to be had on Christmas lights. They really don't want to re-stock them for the next year. We've had battery power on and off over the years, for these lights and to transfer pictures from the digital cameras to the PowerBook.
![]() This is certainly not our camp; we eschew such bright lights in our happy space. And we certainly don't have gallons of anti-freeze.
![]() Use your imaginations, please. One camp, ...
![]() ... and another one, with more lights ...
![]() ... and yet another. I love the low-level lights decorating the camps. So much more pleasant than the folks who hang several high-intensity propane-powered camping lanterns and flood their areas with uber-bright light. Bad, bad!
![]() Now we're back at Center Camp; these were at the Black Rock City Post Office.
![]() The work of the Lamplighters is appreciated along so many of our city's walkways.
![]() And one last view from our nighttime tour. Thank you so much for sticking by during this difficult page.
![]() Let's go and visit the Man.
