Tuesday 21 December 2004, continued
We took a taxi to La Cabaña Park, in the foothills of the mountains, around behind the town of El Tablero. We pass Charlie, who is doing the trip on his bicycle. Omi Marga chooses the local lamb; I stick with the amazing tapas upon which we feasted last year.
The outdoor play area is a hit with the kids. Here's Lila examining the slide, Isaac on the swing, and Rose on the rope ladder.
Here's a panorama taken from the vantage point of the horse. In the foreground the kids enjoy a dinosaur ride, in the middle area is the swing set, and in the background you can see the lighted restaurant.
The kids share a ride with the six-year-old local we've met.
When contemplating getting dessert later,
Lila: I don't like cake. I like other treats. Hard treats, like candy, but not gooey treats.
Later, another local, Carlos, joins the fun. He's eight years old, and a real powerhouse.
And lastly, but hopefully not least, are the celebrating couple. Seven years ago today we wed, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you, darling wife, for all the great times we've had. I like sharing this ride with you. I love you.
