2005 Ibiza: Casa Puerto Allegre, Sant Joan de Labritja
Saturday 24 September 2005, continued.
Casa Puerto Allegre, the main watering hole in Sant Joan de Labritja, is actually never spoken of my that name, at least not in my experience. Fernandito's, they call it. Spanish coffee drinks, pastries, hot meals, and the daily special are the path through Fernandito's.
It's where the community goes to meet each other. It's where I wrote the first half of Internet TV with CU-SeeMe, a book I wrote in 1995 (and published by Macmillan).
![]() Here's the family, waiting for us. From left, that's Adam, Emil, Djamal, Ziggy, Lila, Isaac, and the back of Felicia's head.
![]() Hungry as everyone is, and despite their beating us to the restaurant by a quarter-hour, nobody's ready to order. Here's Omi Marga puzzling over her choices.
![]() Djamal and Daniel; crazed at the disturbance in their otherwise quieter island life.
![]() Frutos secos Ibiza - fruits of Ibiza: peanuts, almonds, something, and pistacios. All local, all tasty.
![]() Just down the street - I did have to walk off that lunch - is a pasture of sheep. Such a pleasant and relaxing scene.
![]() A close-up. I stand here a while, listening to the birds, the sheep, and the rather infrequent car.
![]() Tomorrow we head out to Cala Benirràs.
