2005 Ibiza: London Heathrow (LHR) to Valencia (VAL)
Friday 23 September 2005, continued.
Here at London Heathrow the two branches of our family tree meet, having taken very different routes from the Bay Area... but after a short search we find my sister Felicia, her husband Adam, and their child, Ziggy, near Wetherspoon's bar in Terminal 2.
Wetherspoon's has become a family favorite because they've got a tasty English breakfast and tables big enough for the kids to play with toys and color and draw. This time is no different. Here we are, enjoying each other's company.

That's right, here's our full English, hot, tasty, and salty as appropriate. The best part of air travel... :-)
Here's Felicia and Adam, showing off their trademark photo enhancement technique.
Moving on, we're on our first Iberia plane of the trip. Iberia, for the record, is the most consistently incompetent air carrier we've had the misfortune to fly. Sadly, they're the only game in town for much of the Spanish part of the world, and so we suffer these fools again and again. And this time it's no different. Late beyond belief, they have us board without any thought as to when they'll actually get us off the ground. Isaac and I deal with the situation by exploring the plane; he gets a great rush by getting to hang out by the open rear door and see the airport bustle. (He wanted me to take this photo to show his class; they see it, and a couple of hundred others during a two-part presentation a few weeks after our return.)
From Isaac's vantage point he can see the plane's tail, and he asks me to immortalize the moment. Okay, son?
All this excitement has taken its toll, and everyone is down for the count a few moments after we finally get strapped in for take-off.
Our short time in London over, we start leg four, getting us to Valencia, Spain (VAL).
