2005 Ibiza: Cala Xarraca & Theresa's Birthday
Thursday 22 September 2005, continued.
Because Omi Marga has been needing a lot of down time this trip, we've been spending the morning doing family things. After a hearty well-balanced breakfast - thanks, Rose - the kids pile into the back of Omi Marga's old car.
Towels, spare clothes, supplies in the trunk. Ball, water, snacks, and kids in the back seat. Parents. Okay; ready to go.
![]() As I lock up I glance back at our finca, seeing the salamanders or geckos scampering on the walls.
![]() We're not heading far today; Cala Xarraca is the closest beach to Sant Joan. We're in the car perhaps ten minutes, and that includes the five minutes it takes to get from our finca to Sant Joan. Here's a typical Ibizenco parking lot: packed sandy soil in the midst of a jungle of happy plants.
![]() Strolling towards the beach we see this wonderful castle-like mansion overlooking the bay. The kids like the nopal fruits in the forground as much as the place.
![]() Adam, left, and Emil are already enjoying the beer and prawns when I arrive. I join the feast as the kids play on the beach below us.
