2003 Scotland: Craigmuller Castle, Edinburgh

22 July 2003

It was one screaming traffic jam on the Royal Mile this morning as I retreived our iron horse from the car park. Between the one-way and no-left-turn and all the street construction I would up getting re-directed at Hollyrood Palace, and then sent over to the Mound before I was able to drive up Bank Street to get back to Hunter Square. Wow.

Craigmuller Castle

Saw the other Armstrong store on the way, stopped by on the return, no kilts there or at The Rusty Zipper.

Had a delightfully refreshing lunch at the magnificent ITALIAN CAFé.

On the way back to the car park we swung by the hotel to pick up my kilts (one has grand wrinkles pressed into it by my arse while it was rather soaked by the rain - NOTE TO SELF :-) Turns out the cleaner does all of Hector Russell's kilts before they're shipped. Half-hour turnaround; tomorrow morning.

Went back to the room to pack.

Then saw the Wynd under the Tron Kirk. Impressive. How quickly our history gets buried.

Royal Museum and Museum of Scotland, just off Royal Mile down George IV Bridge. Might return tomorrow.

Rocksalt, at Hunter Square on the Royal Mile.
