2003 Scotland & Germany 1 July 2003 We're heading for an extended summer trip to Scotland and Germany. The idea for the trip lies with Omi Marga, who, when I asked where she'd never before been and wanted to go, answered "Scotland". To that end we've planned this entrire trip around a 90-year-old world traveller. Then she called to say that she wasn't up to the trip. Old age. Being tired. World-weary. We should go alone. So we re-planned the trip, with more time spent in rugged surroundings and local accomodations, with the idea that we'd be Omi Marga's eyes and ears and deliver pictures, stories, and video to her in Germany, later in the summer. That having been done, and bookings made and paid, my darling wife Rose convinces her to go after all because "without your idea we wouldn't be making this trip after all." 2003-07-03-01.jpg 2003-07-03-02.jpg So with 48 hours left before we get airborne, I'm on the phone and online trying to change a core ten days (or so) to be a bit of wilderness and a tour of the major cites and cities. I think I'll make it. Here's the resultant itinerary.
