2003 Scotland: George Square, Glasgow
George Square is one of several modernized meeting places in Glasgow. While we were in the city there were huge concerts given in George Square, with at least dozens of thousands in attendance. As we approached, the most notable visual element was the mirrored area above the columns, in which several drawings (children's drawings?) appeared.
![]() But what was that in front of the pillars? Yep, you saw right, it's a statue of a man on horseback with a traffic cone atop his head! I saw this picture in a travel brochure, so this must be a regular thing. (When I get back to a 'net connection I'll see what I can dig up on this phenomenon.)
![]() From George Square we continued on, walking the shopping paths of Glasgow.
