Burning Man 2003: Journal p. 28
Saturday, cont. - At 2230, after saying good-bye to a few folks left in camp, we drove off the playa. Five minutes later we were on the road, heading back to Reno.
I had no firm idea whether we'd sleep in Reno (a tradition) or make it back to {glossSub("San Francisco", "San Francisco, but as I got to Sparks, NV, I realized I was much, much too tired to drive another three or so hours. (It's about 120 miles from Black Rock City to Reno; another 220 miles to San Francisco.) Usually we stay at the Western Village (just on the highway, before the Nugget), although Ranger Lefty suggested the Nugget Courtyard as an alternative. The W. V. had seven rooms left, one of which we used to shower and sleep in air-conditioned splendor. (NOTE: the older buildings nearest the road (with the 1xx and 2xx rooms) are rather older than the others.)
