Burning Man 2003: Journal p. 5
Monday, cont. - signing out I met "Ranger Norman", up from Las Vegas. Many hugs, and one of his Mom's most excellent cookies later, they went on patrol (promising to come by after shift's end to wake us up at 0800 (if the kids are still sleeping I'll chat, being as I'm sleeping outside, where they'll stumble over me). Talisker and playa dust is even better than the whiskey was on the Isle of Skye. The kids love the playground slide and teeter-totter hand-made by one of the Kidsvillians. Rose and I enjoyed some quiet time after I got back, after midnight, with fire-twirlers in the background. Tonight is much warmer, p'raps 70° F (21° C), without the choppy wind of last night. Wonderful. Now it's 0130, time to finally get some sleep before starting our second day gere. So far, so good.
