2002 Colorado: The Creek Tuesday 09 July 2002 It's our last full day in Colorado. I can't believe how quickly a week has gone by. It took me four days just to get into the swing of being on vacation. Sigh. Felicia, Adam, and Ziggy Mo are returning to San Francisco today. So we had a last family breakfast together and hung around the Timber Lodge until just before theya to leave for the airport. At the last minute we decide to celebrate leave-taking with ice cream. I remembered hearing about the Creamery, a few minutes away, so we took our three-car caravan there for the last half-hour we'd all be together. (It was good. Not as good as Mitchell's, but good.) Then that branch of the family tree drives off. We'll see them tomorrow :-) It's another hot day today; about 95 at mid-day. Our hosts, who have two children, suggest we head toward the Helen Hunt Jackson falls, up Cheyenne Boulevard. There we can pull off the road and enjoy some time in the stream. So we check the map, stop to pick up a deli lunch, and head out. (It turns out that it's immediately adjacent to the Seven Falls we visited yesterday. It's beautiful. It's cool. It's got tiny fish, sand, rocks, and plants. Isaac and Lila (and the rest of us) love it. ![]() ![]() ![]()
