2004 More Halloween Goings-On
Friday 29 October 2004
Today we pulled out one of my prized German Wüsthof Dreizackwerk knives and together, with me holding the hilt closer to the blade, we made the cuts Isaac wanted. (He had drawn a plan for a pumpkin face "with scary teeth".) This is how it turned out.
![]() I did get to contribute my own artistic vision: Isaac wrote his name on the pumpkin using a "permanent" laundry marker. It wore off within the minute. So I took that knife and carved his name into the back. No way that'll wear off.
![]() Lila chose to be a unicorn this year, after a friend of ours outgrew her costume of previous years. On the left edge you can see the mother-of-pearl shimmer to the wings. It's a really great
![]() Here's Lila's teacher of last year, Juggy. This year is leading another class at the pre-school, which isn't enough for Lila, but she's taking it well :-)
![]() Here are some of Lila's peers in their costumes. What a cute bunch!
![]() Lila doffed the unicorn and inspected her classmates.
![]() Lila didn't want to return to being a unicorn, even during a line-up in preparation for a walk around the block. So it goes.
![]() Over at Isaac's kindergarten he too was in a line-up. He's the firefighter sitting next to the angel with a halo.
![]() We end our Halloween tour with a picture of Dziadziu and Lila, as they watch the six grades of Isaac's school parade around and enjoy a raffle.
