2004 Arata Pumpkin Patch, Half Moon Bay
Wednesday 20 October 2004
For the second year in a row Lila's pre-school heads to Arata's Pumpkin Patch in Half Moon Bay to celebrate autumn and Halloween. We meet at the school and proceed south in some sort of caravan.
![]() I love the color and variety of pumpkins, only a few of which can be seen here.
![]() Isaac grabbed a wheelbarrow and proceeded to lead us through a rather wet pumpkin patch. Chris, the owner, told us that lightening storms and driving rains gave a bit of excitement last night. We see a lot of broken cornstalks.
![]() Here's Isaac musing on the limitations of the mighty tractor, which is, umm, grounded in the muddy ground.
![]() The Lila took over and pushed the wheelbarrow for a while.
![]() And what would a school outing be without a post-lunch sing-along?
![]() Both kids had a turn on the ponies.
![]()
![]() Everyone loved the petting zoo...
![]() ...and the labyrinth of strawbales.
![]() We spent a science moment when we encountered a wooly catapiller:
![]() Then Isaac turned tour guide, giving Lila an imaginary trip around the farm on another tractor.
![]() We were perhaps the last family of our preschool to leave. We headed up to Cameron's Restaurant, just north of Highway 92. In the parking lot are two London taxicabs and two routemaster buses. Here's the family on the rear stairway of the bar bus.
