Eighteenth Street
From 1996 to 1998 my (future) wife and I lived west of the Castro, on 18th Street. This was the period just before we got married and later bought our first home.
![]() This is a view of our bedroom, the one room which we fully utilized as a living space. (It was a huge flat, but the front was cooler and darker than the south-facing bedroom which overlooked the garden.) At left is the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door that leads to the wooden balcony. Walk onto the balcony and this is the panoramic view. We're in the lee of one of the mountains that make up Twin Peaks, on the other side of which is the West Portal neighborhood.

It was while we lived here that we visited the indoor rock climbing gym at Mission Cliffs. Here's Rose,Dad, and my sister Felicia.
