Isaac's Toilet Training
This is mostly a placeholder until we have finished this path.
For the moment, though, I can say that we never pressured Isaac to be toilet-trained (as were many of his peers as to have them ready for nursery school at three years of age).
Not much happened until the following summer, when on Tue 25 June 2002 I noted that Isaac was yet again interested in toilet-training. He made us buy a "pee-pee" toilet long, long ago, but it's been a plaything rather than a do-what-Papa-does thing.
While we were with great-grandmother Omi Marga in Gran Canaria in 2003 she spoke to him about it. Since then, with the trip home as the only exception, he's been using the o-benji exclusively. Rose seems to have found the two pillars of encouragement by (1) having him put stickers on the calendar for each success and (2) switching him from diapers and pull-ups to "big boy underwear". We haven't had many accidents, either. Two, I think.
