Central Amsterdam is made up of three concentric canals. This is one of the bridges; this one has a drawbridge for sailboats. None of these mechanisms are new :-)
 Other bridges don't have lifting sections. This bridge has two small holes, through which a tourist sightseeing boat is squeezing through. (Note the Amsterdam crest on the side of the bridge, between the bore holes.)
 Okay, we're done with Amsterdam. We board our train and head to Germany.
