1999 Austria / London / Munich: Arthurhaus Ritt (4)
As we walked on it's easy to forget we're in the Alps, but occasionally my eyes catch a glimpse of something "out there" and realize that it's mountains, not clouds.

CAREFUL
Rabies Warning
In these woods are rabies-infected animals. Avoid wolves to protect yourself from rabies.

As we strolled around the winding paths, mindful of wolves, enjoying the shade of the cloud cover, we repeatedly encountered cows. I'd forgotten than both genders of cows sport horns; in the USA they're removed from all but the bulls.
In some places the ground is almost denuded, probably from a combination of erosion, runoff, and the cattle.
Nearing the end of our gently downward hike we came across a babbling brook which weaved and turned through the woods to become a beautiful waterfall. We sat down to enjoy the sounds and smells of a wood glen.
Next, we finish our hike with a quick check of the local architecture and a few pictures of our group.
