We took Isaac to Fisherman's Wharf to see the sea lions at Pier 39. (Getting some take-away calamare in oil and vinegar from A. Sabella and La Torre is just an added benefit for mama and papa.) It was a nice evening, but of course our tiny tyke fell asleep just before we got to the pier. |
While leaving Ghiradelli Square (the hot fudge sundaes have become just terrible) we stumbled across the ZOOB outlet store. While these snap-together toys are really intended for older kids, Isaac had a fun time once playing in a tub of toys, something like a sandbox. |
Isaac woke up just before we got back to the car. He got to see the two women donning wet suits for a swim in the San Francisco bay (as practice for an upcoming triathalon). Brrrr. Then we heard the loud cries of visiting egrets (courtesy of La Niña) being chased from the trees by the native birds. Here are Rose and Isaac standing under the bird tree, with Alcatraz Island in the background. |
Upon waking Isaac loves to crawl over to papa and pull on my ears and hair while saying 'Hey'. Since I'm currently sporting my Burning Man haircut Isaac has to make do without my curls. Here's one not-so-gentle wakeup call. |

Here's our little doodle-bug safely ensconsed in his high-chair, in our dining nook. In addition to eating, this perch serves as base camp for several games, including "let me drop things so you can pick them up for me and I can do it again". |
Isaac loves to play with his spoon before we feed him. It seems to let him know that mealtime has come. These days Isaac hasn't been much in the mood for a big morning meal; only a nibble. The wolfing down of food comes later in the day. This might be due to teething, which doesn't seem to bother him much, but he does get fussy at times. |
Here's Isaac in one of his new fleece sleepers. San Francisco summers can be quite cool, and this lets our boy sleep comfortably while we enjoy fresh air, courtesy of the fog outside. |
