installing the alarm, p. 3
Having cleaned the trim panel, now I focus on connecting the alarm transmitter.
Now I'm happy to have read the instructions all the way through. A hard-top muffles sounds of the outside world better than a rag-top, and the alarm sensitivity must be set correspondingly. And there's no better moment than right now to do it.
I open up the transmitter and place it on the instructions, right by the diagrams of the DIP switches.
![]() And I'm very happy that I read the description twice: high sensitivity is when both DIPs are set to the 'off' position.
![]() Done, I reassemble the transmitter and focus on connecting it to the car's backplane. Lots of wires, and no empty twelve-pin plugs to be seen.
![]() After a bit of examination I discover the twelve-pin vehicle connector hiding below the assembly, hiding under that river of wires in the middle of the picture.
![]() But where is the "factory installed hood switch connector (single position black Amp male connector) violet / green / yellow wire" I'm supposed to see? The drawing in the manual seems to show it coming out of the back of the 12-pin, but I can't see anything like it... I'll look again in the morning.
