installing the alarm, p. 3

Having cleaned the trim panel, now I focus on connecting the alarm transmitter.

Now I'm happy to have read the instructions all the way through. A hard-top muffles sounds of the outside world better than a rag-top, and the alarm sensitivity must be set correspondingly. And there's no better moment than right now to do it.

I open up the transmitter and place it on the instructions, right by the diagrams of the DIP switches.

And I'm very happy that I read the description twice: high sensitivity is when both DIPs are set to the 'off' position.

Done, I reassemble the transmitter and focus on connecting it to the car's backplane. Lots of wires, and no empty twelve-pin plugs to be seen.

After a bit of examination I discover the twelve-pin vehicle connector hiding below the assembly, hiding under that river of wires in the middle of the picture.

But where is the "factory installed hood switch connector (single position black Amp male connector) violet / green / yellow wire" I'm supposed to see? The drawing in the manual seems to show it coming out of the back of the 12-pin, but I can't see anything like it... I'll look again in the morning.

Have you found errors nontrivial or marginal, factual, analytical and illogical, arithmetical, temporal, or even typographical? Please let me know; drop me email. Thanks!
