Userland Radio: fixing 8.1
Tuesday 1 March 2005
In my quest to switch from HTML to CSS I decided to add a W3C validation link on each page. Things, however, are never as easy as one expects.
I'm finding errors in the Userland Radio core UserTalk software, specifically in the strings which are sent to the rendered web pages. No big deal, but I need them fixed or nothing will validate. Here's what I needed to do:
system.verbs.builtins.html.data.standardMacros.linkStyleSheet
Change each occurance of rel=stylesheet to rel="stylesheet"
Each of these lines ends in the older > rather than /> which you must fix.
system.verbs.builtins.html.data.standardMacros.metaTags
makes an optional meta information line which ends in the older > rather than /> (which I didn't want to fix, so I added #includeMetagenerator false to my sites #prefs section).
