Lefty across America: 2003 - 02 - 03 (3)
February 4 -- Susanville, CA to Reno, NV (continued)
Route 299 takes one through Modoc National Forest; more specifically, the Warner Mountains & Wilderness area. Cedar Pass, the route through the mountain range to the Great Basin, is at 6,305 feet.
![]() Wow! And I thought Mounts Lassen & Shasta were majestic! This is a series of photos I took at Cedar Pass.
![]() This snowy ridge at the pass just took what breath I had left away. I had heard rumor of Modoc's quiet, stunning beauty. But now I was getting and confirming it firsthand. Stunning!
![]() This inspired another one of my Pranayama/meditation/prayer/Reiki sessions. It seems as if God likes to visit close with me not only amidst Redwoods immersion but also during high mountain elevation. Another Wow!
![]() I dedicated all of my spiritual exercises set in Mother Nature during this journey -- in the woods, on the shores, next to the creeks, in the deserts, and up on the mountains like these -- to all of the human & ecological strife in the world today; in the hopes that love, mindfulness, peace, & sustainable life will prevail. And as I continue to explore the healing energies of Reiki, folks, please know that I am sending Reiki out to this world as much as I can and know how! (Keep that thought in mind as we continue to the next stage of the trip, heading down into Big Basin.)
