Burning Man 2000 Before we leave Tuesday 1 August 2000 - Rose, Ranger Lefty, Isaac, and I went to dinner in the Castro. Isaac was acting up so I took him for a walk. By the time I got back they'd agreed to me going up for a week. Sunday 6 August 2000 - Spent the day in Golden Gate Park, attending the last Ranger Orientation Meeting before we descend on the playa. The excitement is starting to build. Projections have us hosting over 33,000 attendees. Wow! Wednesday 16 August 2000 - Ranger Lefty and I have spoken several times by phone, and a lot by email, in order to refine the spreadsheet we come up with in 1998. It's a list of our supplies, clothes, and camping items. Today we meet at Café Tiramisu, one of the great restaurants on Belden Place, to discuss our progress. I've purchased storm goggles for us, and Ranger Lefty has been food shopping. Each of us found a parachute. He has the tent pegs I used to anchor the parachute; I may have white gas for the stove. Eleven days and we're off to the playa.
