Album 1999.10.18 (b)

Isaac still loves things on high: fans, disco balls, mobiles, anything.

In the Nihonmachi (Japantown) neighborhood of San Francisco we bought two antique "boy's day" banners which hang in the bedroom. (In these photos you can see the family crest at the very top of the banner.)

The rainbow-colored metallic coils are from this year's Castro Street Fair. Novelty aluminum airscrews - made in Germany - twist in the slightest breeze. Anything to amuse our little guy.

Changing nappies is a bit easier these days. There's still his fake cries, and the occasional sprint off of the changing surface, but often it's just laughter and playing with a toy. Here Isaac is wearing his tee shirt in the style of an Egyptian pharoh.

And of course, we musn't forget Purple Guy (also known as Tinky Winky (of Teletubbies fame)). Isaac gets around rather well in a sleeper with attached feet.

I think there's more to say about these Tinky Winky pictures. At left is another pose, caught in the action of trying to learn standing. In the middle is one of my favorites: an attentive straight-back with hands-in-lap posture. At right is our boy, on our bed, enjoying Sesame Street.

Moving along, we're getting ready for a picture of Isaac feeding himself for the first time.

Have you found errors nontrivial or marginal, factual, analytical and illogical, arithmetical, temporal, or even typographical? Please let me know; drop me email. Thanks!
