2003 Germany: Münster - ?2 Friday 1 August 2003 Visited Ahlen. First the cemetary. Then a glorious outdoor lunch at the Chagall in a new museum right along the middle of town, next to the werse (meadow) walkway where I used to go and play and toss scraps of bread at the ententiech (duck pond). [Pfefferlinge in a pile atop two rosti, alongside a great salad with an old-style sweet creamy salad dressing. The salmon lasagna was okay, but shamed in comparison.] Then tea and elderberry water and two homemade cakes on the outskirts of Ahlen. Then, at 1800, we head back to Münster to Friday night services at the shul. I think we had a late dinner at Pfeffercorn. [Berner Plate, both beef and pork medallions with hollandaise sauce, veggies, potatoes and speck.]
