1998 Point Reyes - Merde
Part of my Search and Rescue training, the wilderness survival part, not the human-tracking part, included identifying the excretory output of animals, to get a better feel for the lay of the land (and what to hunt for supper, if caught in a dire situation). The professional term for animal feces is "scat", for those of you who needed to know. Here, without any explanation, are several different kinds of scat we found. Rose had to suffer through the explanations.
Not all is poop. Point Reyes has several micro-climates, ranging from the seashore to the high peaks. The plant life is just staggering.
