1996 Kaua'i: Helicopter Ride
I took a helicopter trip around the island after my stay was about two-thirds done. It was just fantastic. Besides gaining a vantage point I'd not enjoyed before, it put the previous travels into perspective. A mustachioed Viet Nam helicopter pilot gave the tour, complete with music from Wagner (a la Apocalypse Now).
