What the heck is Isaac doing in a cardboard box at the in-laws' house? Hiding from us, of course. This is a new game, and quite a noisy one, as he throws all of his toys out of the box to empty it. The pleasure he gets from an empty box never ceases to amaze me.
![]() Here you see Isaac patiently waiting for Papa to take pictures of our newly-constructed cleaning wheels tool. The road dust and brake-pad material make for an ugly black layer on the wheels. So we apply a bit of creative technology.
![]() After cleaning the car, a few spritzes of Simple Green by Papa, a bit of motorized cleaning time by Isaac, and then some we're done. Here you see Isaac applying a bit of water to the wheels and a lot of water to himself. It took two days for his shoes to dry out.
![]() The best thing about our digital camera is the swiveling LCD display. Nothing breaks the ice and generates infectious enthusiasm than seeing yourself in miniature. Here's Isaac mugging for the camera, a typical reaction.
![]() Here the keiki (Hawai'ian: children) yuk it up for the camera. Lila like seeing herself too, but she really loves the antics of her big brother. I love to hear the peals of laughter and shrieks of delight fill the family house. Yeah!
![]() Okay, I've saved the best for last, as a reward for those of you who persevere to the bottom of the page :-) It's LILA'S FIRST FEEDING! Yes! On her six-month birthday, two days ago, we travelled over the hill to the in-laws, where we fed Lila her first food: organic cereal mush. She seemed rather underwhelmed by the whole experience, especially by all of us standing shoulder-to-shoulder, wielding enough cameras to make it seem like some demented press conference.
![]() Says Lila: "no comment".
